I think a number of the audience will have been as disappointed as I was after seeing the Ramones. At least, their concert was short. The Sex Pistols, pretty vacant really (their only decent song).

I've loved The Cars since the first time I heard them when I was about 9 or 10 years old. The cars seemed to be universally liked by just about everybody at the time. Elliot Easton is such a great well-rounded musician, there seems to be nothing he can't do, (and do very well) and with a lot of feeling put into it..... even tapping like Eddie Van Halen at 16:35 on the counter (and this is back in 1978 so you know he'd been doing it a while to develop it to that point!). I hope he continues to have wider recognition as time goes on, along with the entire band!

How lucky were we in england to see sterlo and kenny in 84-85 playing. Being an fc fan think sterlo was the better player though

I saw these guys in 1990 on the automatic tour. After the show I met them behind the venue to get their autograph. Their scottish accent was so thick I couldn't understand a word they were saying! I thought it was their way of avoiding talking to me. It wasn't until the late 90's when I saw the movie trainspotting I realized that a thick scottish accent is real thing.

What i do like about the Sex Pistols is that when Johnny Rotten has something to say he means it and there isn't no BS, whether it's through songs or interviews ! Definitely was always an interesting band.

Ive seen a lot of bands live but these guys, live at The Playroom, Gold Coast, Australia, were outstanding! Perfect power pop! Shakespeare would have been appreciative of their lyrics and musical genius!

European's at this time were more into tech based music. Besides, wasn't rock born in the USA? Maybe it's easier for us to 'get it'.

Every live performance of the Cars brings out these short but insistent reminders of how things have a way of revisiting us in time. This 1978 gig shows the creative height of The Cars performance-wise, as well as through their studio work. I heard T-Rex like kicks in Good Times Roll, and David Benjamin's driving drum basis for driving this train. Eliot Easton's tasteful lead guitar excursions in "My Best Friend's Rockabillie comes back to Ric's stage gaze back to Ben Orr and the Rest of The Cars. An excellent performance. Precision and a real unity of experience in Music are shown at work here. And the music lives on in many expressions.
